University Foundation Diploma
WLBC offers a 12 to 48 week University Foundation Diploma which gives students the abilities to succeed at all levels of University entrance. The diploma consists of a mixture of General English, Academic English and preparation for the IELTS Examination. The course comprises of 5 x 3 hour lessons per week and is carefully designed to enable international students to prepare for university. With the regular tutorial sessions, all students work towards achieving their desired University place. University selection advice and application assistance and is included as part of the Diploma.
The Diploma will develop essential university skills such as academic research skills, data collection, advanced summarization and presentation skills. Most of our students are often highly qualified professionals in their own subject area. For students wishing to study a business or finance based degree, your course can be adapted to suit this areas of study.
Students also receive progress reports and are expected to complete written assignments both inside and outside the classroom to ensure they are adequately prepared for University study in the UK.
Course Times and Cost
Courses include 21 hours of study per week. This is comprised of 15 hours tuition at the school and 6 hours self study at home, usually 45 minutes per day from Monday to Thursday and 3 hours at the weekend. Maximum Class Size and Attendance Requirements
The maximum class size is 16 and the average class size is 10. You may lose your place in the class if you do not attend regularly. Visa studnets are required by the UK Immigration Athuorites to attend at least 80% of class and to be seen to make progress. Failure to comply with these requirement will result in the student being reported to the Home Office.
