Social Programme
We have an exciting social programme, including inexpensive trips organised on most weekends to interesting places all over the UK, and evening entertainment such as theatre trips, bowling and pub quizzes.
Day trips cost around £20 and include visits to Stonehenge, Windsor castle, Oxford, Cambridge and many other top attractions.
Weekend trips cost around £100 and include travel and accommodation in destinations such as Edinburgh, Wales, Paris and Cornwall.
The Social Programme includes evenings out bowling, trips to the theatre, guided London walks and traditional pub quizzes.
Social Programme for October 2009
• Saturday 3rd October- All Day:
Day trip to Bristol (£13)
Bristol is a city in the west of England that was once a very important port. The city still has strong connections with the sea with a number of water attractions. We will have a guided walk of Bristol that will include a visit to the Clifton Suspension Bridge, designed by the famous engineer, Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
• Saturday 10th October - Al Day:
Day trip to Stonehenge & Salisbury (£26)
Stonehenge is one of the most famous monuments in the world. Entry to this 5,000 year old stone circle is included in the tour and we go there first. Our second stop is the historic city of Salisbury. We have a guided walk around this city with a local guide and then you have free time to explore for yourselves.
• Saturday 17th October – All day:
Day trip to Cambridge & Ely (£24)
Ely is famous for being the home of Oliver Cromwell, the man who governed England after the Execution of King Charles I in the 17th century. After a guided walk around the city we go into Oliver Cromwell’s House (entry included).Cambridge is a major university city and after a guided walk, you will be free to explore on your own. Visit the university colleges, go punting on the river or walk around the market.
• Monday 19th October– From 5pm::
Bowling at Acton Tenpin (£6.50)
Come and have a game of bowling at Acton Tenpin in Park Royal. Play against other students or even teachers. Great fun!!
•Thursday 22nd October– From 4pm:
London Walk - Temple to St. Paul's (Free)
Come and discover more about the capital city. Our walk starts in the Temple area, which is in the heart of the legal district of London. You will learn secrets and stories along the way and we will finish at the magnificent St. Paul's Cathedral.
•Sunday 25th October - All Day:
Day trip to Nottingham (£25)
Nottingham is famous for Robin Hood and there is a Robin Hood festival on that weekend. This takes place in the castle and the entry fee is included in the ticket price. There will be medieval displays of archery (which you can also take part in), jousting, craft fairs, demonstrations of medieval weapons, a birds of prey display and much more.
