Part-time Evening Classes

Study General English, FCE, CAE & CPE or IELTS part-time in the evening. Courses are held on Tuesday, Wednesady and Thursday evenings with flexible attendance requirements to suit those who are busy in the day time.

Course Levels

New students take a placement test to check their level. We have 8 levels of general English and offer preparation for the academic IELTS exam. This a test of your English which is used as an entry requirement for studying at university in the UK and other English speaking countries. Students at any level from Upper-Intermediate to Proficiency can join IELTS.

Please check with reception to see which levels are currently available. At the end of each General English course, you will be given a ‘level change test’ to see if you are ready to move up to the next level. After completing FCE, CAE and CPE courses you can take an internationally recognised Cambridge exam to prove your level of English. Exams are taken externally and the cost of £85-£95 is not included in the course fee.

Course Times and Cost

Courses include 5 hours tuition per week, with 4 hours 40 minutes contact time. Classes are held on either Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday from 6.00 to 8.30pm, with a ten-minute break from 7.20 to 7.30. You may start your course any Monday or Tuesday. Maximum Class Size and Attendance Requirements

The maximum class size for General English is 20 and the average class size is 10. The maximum class isze for IELTS is 12. You may lose your place in the class if you do not attend regularly.
