If you wish to find your own accommodation, please remember the following points:

 Living with other people of the same nationality will limit your opportunities of practising English at home.Water, gas and electricity bills are not normally included in the monthly rent; you will be expected to pay these separately.If you have a TV, you will need to pay a yearly TV licence of around £135.You will normally be expected to pay a month’s rent in advance, and a deposit of 1 to 2 month’s rent, which will be returned to you only if you leave the accommodation clean and undamaged.If you share accommodation with people who are not students, you may have to pay Council Tax, which may be £900 to £1500 per year, depending on the size of the accommodation.

You will also normally be expected to sign a minimum contract of 6 months (sometimes a year) on privately rented accommodation.
